Foundations in Mindful Leadership

Thank you to the Gippsland Leaders who joined me for the Foundations in Mindful Leadership retreat last Friday, a real privilege for me.

Imagine if everything you did at work was completely aligned to your values and that over time you were less and less at risk of your emotions hijacking you at work.  Practising mindfulness formally and integrated into your normal activities, can create the necessary neuronal pathways for you to grow your emotional intelligence and improve your performance.

Choose one activity to practise every day mindfully, like walking into your office or greeting your colleagues – fully present and observant of all your senses in the moment.   I also invite you to commit to closing your eyes and focusing on your breath every day for a short time – maybe 10 breaths – commit to doing it everyday.  It is in the repetition that you can build a strong neuronal pathway and create a mindful way of being.
